By making a holiday booking you accept the following Terms & Conditions:
1. The Greener Camping Club
In order to comply with countryside planning policy, we operate as a Greener Camping Club members-only campsite. The Club was established by people with a passion for sustainable, eco-friendly camping holidays. When you book your holiday with us, you will be enrolled as a member of the Club. Membership costs just £10 for the calendar year and gives you access to some of the greenest campsites in the UK. It also includes participation in the Club’s ‘Trees for Life’ scheme, whereby a tree is planted for every member we enrol.
We request a 30% conditionally-refundable deposit when you book. Receipt of the deposit secures your booking. Please note that the deposit includes full payment (£10) for your Greener Camping Club membership. Glamping units or camping pitches are held provisionally for up to seven days, after which, if we have not received your deposit, the dates will be released. The balance is required 30 days prior to your arrival date. If we do not receive your balance by this time, we will assume you have cancelled your holiday and release the dates – see below. For short lead-time bookings – ie. those booked less than six weeks before arrival, the full amount will be requested to secure the booking.
3. Cancellation by You
If you cancel your holiday six weeks or more before your arrival date we will refund your deposit less a 20% admin fee and the £10 Greener Camping Club membership fee (which is not refundable). If you cancel your holiday less than six weeks before your arrival date and we are able to re-let your holiday for the dates you have booked, we will refund your deposit and balance, less a 20% admin fee. The Greener Camping Club membership fee is not refundable. In the event that we are unable re-let your dates, no refund will be made. Bookings are not transferable to another family without our prior agreement in writing. If you are concerned about the prospect of cancellation, please take out holiday insurance. 4. Cancellation by Us
Sunrise Eco Glamping reserves the right to cancel a camping or glamping holiday at short notice if we are unable to provide safe glamping accommodation or camping environment, due to extreme weather conditions, ill health, fire, flooding or any other extenuating circumstances beyond our control. Under such circumstances, your full payment will be returned to you. Sunrise Eco Glamping cannot accept liability or responsibility for any loss, including consequential loss, caused by cancellation. The Greener Camping Club membership fee is not refundable.
5. Cancellation in the Event of Covid-19 Infection or any other pandemic/force majeure
What happens if you have to cancel your booking for any of the following reasons:
- You or a member of your party have a positive Covid-19 test.
- You or a member of your party have to self-isolate due to contact with a Covid-19 sufferer.
- You or a member of your party develop Covid-19 symptoms and are awaiting test results.
- Your area is put into a localised lockdown – that means you will be breaking the law if you travel.
If any of the above apply we will do our best to offer you alternative dates for your holiday. If that is not possible then the ‘Cancellation by You’ clause will apply.
Special Coronavirus Condition
If, as a result Government restrictions on campsites we are forced to cancel your holiday, we make a heartfelt request that rather than a refund, we instead hold your deposit as a credit against a later stay, valid for up to 12 months from your original holiday dates. If you postpone until the followiong year your Greener Camping Club membership will be carried over to the end of that year.
As a small business, we are wholly dependent on your custom for our survival. We realise these are difficult times for all, but your support will help us get through this and continue to make Sunrise Eco Glamping a wonderful place to stay.
6. Children & Adults Safety
There are contingent risks to be aware of. We permit campfires in the designated fire pits only outside your accommodation, the tents have wood burning stoves within, there is a shallow stream bounding the land, we have livestock on site, an active garden centre – so there will be other traffic on site (though not on the glamping area) including occasional delivery vehicles. These risks are small and should be self-evident – but if you are not clear, please ask. Sunrise Eco Glamping accepts no responsibility for injury incurred on site. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children on site at all times.
7. Arrival & Departure Times
Arrival time is between 3pm and 7pm. If you arrive before 5pm, our main gates will be open, after 5pm the gates will be locked via a combination lock. Please let us know if you will arrive after 5pm so we can forward the combination code prior to your arrival. The main gates must be closed and locked behind you at all times between 5pm and 9am – our guest and site security relies on this. We allow one car per booking and require your registration number for security. We request that you follow the guidelines provided in our digital guest book for your arrival. Please call us if you think you may arrive later that 7pm so that we can make suitable arrangements. On departure day, please vacate your lotus belle glamping tent by 10:30am and camping pitch by 11am. If you require a later check out, just let us know and we will do our very best to oblige.
8. Cars & Campervans
The speed limit on site is is 5 mph. Cars are not allowed past the main car park – it’s only a short walk to the glamping area and we provide wheelbarrows to help transport your belongings.
9. Consideration for Others
This is a peaceful, quiet site for the enjoyment of nature. We do not allow radios, stereos or other sound systems and only quiet talking is permitted after 10.00pm. Acoustic instruments can be played before then, such as guitars, harmonicas, flutes etc. Noisy visitors who disturb other guests will be asked politely to leave, without refund. If you are out for the night and arrive back late, please be mindful of our other guests, our neighbours and livestock.
10. Recycling, Rubbish and Compostable Waste
All rubbish must be recycled. That means separating glass, tins, plastic, paper, cardboard, food waste etc. and placing them in the designated bins. What is left, ie. only items that are not recyclable, can be placed in the landfill bin. We monitor our waste levels and aim for 100% recycled volumes every year.
Compostable waste includes your solids waste from your non-flush toilet. At the end of your stay, please ensure you’ve covered your solids with sawdust, lift the lid on the seat and tie the bag containing your waste. Please place the tied bag in the designated container as labelled. By supporting this method of toileting, you will be saving an enormous volume of water and the resulting compost will be used to fertilise our trees.
Please only use the designated campfire places and do not enlarge or alter the position of the designated campfire places. Do not leave your campfire unattended and think carefully about whether or not to light a fire if it is windy. Sunrise Eco Glamping accepts no liablity for injury or damage caused by your campfire. By lighting it you accept full responsibility for it. Be mindful of wind direction and other guests when lighting your campfire. We provide a limited amount of wood for your wood burning stove and fire pit, further supplies can be purchased.
12. Day Visitors
Day visitors are only permitted by prior agreement. Day visitors may not consume any of the complimentary produce we provide for our paying guests and are not permitted to stay past 5pm.
13. Property Loss
Sunrise Eco Glamping cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen property. If you arrive and our main gate is locked, you must ensure you lock it behind you. If you go out for the evening, we respectfully request you return by 11pm latest to avoid disturbance to other guests who may be sleeping. The gate code will allow access in and out of the gates and may not be passed on to anyone else.
14. Smokers / Vaping
All the glamping tents and all the undercover facilities are strictly NO SMOKING/VAPING. If you smoke, do it outside and dispose of your cigarette ends in the campfire or bin.
15. Dog Policy
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times of no more than two metres, and must never be left unattended on site. You may walk your dog around the perimeter of the main paddock but must not let your dog off the lead. Dogs are not allowed in the alpaca paddock. We reserve the right to cancel your booking and ask you to leave if your dog barks incessantly and disturbs other guests/livestock on site. If you dog fouls along the perimeter, we favour the stick and flick method as the waste will biodegrade. In all other areas, if your dog fouls, you must pick up the waste and put it in a suitable waste bag. Please do not allow your dog to wee on the sides of the tents or any furniture. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture or bedding. If this is the norm for your dog at home, rather than stress your dog, we respectfully suggest this is not the venue for your dog. You need to bring your own towels and dog beds for your pet and not use guest towels to dry your dog off.
16. The Weather
‘Extreme Weather’ is covered in ‘Cancellations by Us’. Very strong winds and torrential rain can occur at any time of year. If pitching your own tent, you must ensure that your tent is robust and pitched correctly. In somes cases we may ask you to move to another pitch. Please note, we do not provide a refund because the weather has not worked out, or is not to your liking. Extreme weather is covered in ‘Cancellations by Us’.
17. Additional Terms & Conditions relating to belle tent bookings
Fair use of complimentary items provided by us for you
Items in the GRILL & CHILL SHACK are included in the price of your booking. They are provided on a fair use basis, for consumption during your stay and not for taking home at the end of your stay. Please use the induction cooker, kettle and other electrical appliances with care and in accordance with the instructions.
Breakages & Damage
Should any damage or breakages occur, other than acceptable wear and tear, a charge for repairs or replacement will be made. We reserve the right to charge for excessive cleaning where a belle tent has been left in an unacceptable condition, through waste, litter, interference in the structure, movement of furniture and contents etc. Guests will be held responsible for any fire, smoke or general damage, or alteration to the structure caused by negligence.
18. Our Alpaca herd
Our alpacas live in the paddock next to our glamping area. Guests are not permitted to go into the alpaca field without a member of staff and the alpaca must not be fed over the fence – they have a set diet and are unable to digest and masticate certain foods. If you wish to enjoy a meet and greet session with our alpacas which includes feeding and petting, please book this as an extra. The alpaca are there for your visual enjoyment. Please note, we also offer for our garden centre customers meet and greet sessions with the alpacas. Therefore, twice a day (once in the morning and once in the afternoon) you may see a small group of people walking through our main paddock to reach the alpaca field. This group (which includes a member of staff) does not enter the tent area but will pass by the shower and lav shacks.
19. Our on-site Garden Centre
Please remember we also have a small retail garden centre on-site, therefore you will see other people and traffic in our main carpark which may include the odd delivery vehicle. Glampers have their own dedicated parking area and general garden centre customers are not permitted into the glamping field (unless visiting the alpacas as mentioned above).
